I called this dealer and arranged to see a car they had in stock. I arranged the time I was coming to look at it and duly arrived after a 50 mile drive (which they knew I was going to have to make) Having looked at the car I agreed to test drive it - after even going so far as to agree the trade in value for my car..... Imagine my astonishment to be told by the salesman that because I wouldn't commit to buying the car they would not let me test drive it. The salesman announced that this was their policy. I told him that if he insisted on this and I had to go elsewhere for a test drive and decided to buy this model I would be honour bound to buy it from the company with whom I did the test drive. He didn't seem to care. Ironically I told the same 'evaluating two cars' to the other garage who were happy to give me a test drive. Guess who I bought a car from that afternoon. It is simply unacceptable to lure people on a 100mile round trip and demand a commitment to buy before driving it
